Jim Carrey’s Ex-Girlfriend Wrote A Note That’ll Break Your Heart.

When we think of Jim Carrey, laughter, comedy, and insane stunts come to mind. For a long time, he was America's go-to comedic leading actor, starring in films like Ace Ventura, The Truman Show, and The Mask. He's also succeeded as a dramatic actor as well, proving that he's not all funny faces and fart noises. And while his public persona is all about the laughs, the last couple fo years have been privately very difficult for the actor -- and the story of how his most recent relationship ended will simply break your heart.

For awhile, Carrey was involved with a makeup artist named Cathriona White. The pair were deeply in love, often photographed vacationing or walking the New York City streets together. All of that came crashing down when Cathriona took her own life at age 30, and now, new details are emerging about the case. Read more of this tragic story below.

The couple dated from 2012-2013, and then ended up seeing each other off and on for awhile.

When they finally broke up for good, Cathriona was devastated.

For the year following, she had issues with insomnia and loss of appetite. Long story short, she sunk into a severe depression.

Her friends know it was the breakup that really got to her.

"She was madly in love with Jim and that their relationship was a rollercoaster… that she tied her identity to his and that she felt he was slipping away from her.”

Carrey made one final FaceTime call with Cathriona.

Two days after that, he reached out to Cathriona to ask if she knew where his prescription pills went. His texts were left unanswered.

After four days without a response, Carrey sent his personal assistant to her apartment.

What he found there is truly heartbreaking.

Cathriona White was found dead in her apartment. She was only 30 years old.

It was later revealed that Cathriona had committed suicide using the pills she'd stolen from Carrey.

Many of the details of her death were kept quiet.

Until now, that is.

A suicide note was found next to her.

In it, she described the unbearable pain the end of their relationship caused her.

In the end, she simply couldn't do it anymore.

Her death left a huge hole in the hearts of her loved ones. No one should die so young, and losing life to suicide is particularly painful.

"I’ve spent three days now in disbelief that you’re not here. I can go on and try to put the pieces back together. I could, I just don’t have the will this time. I’m sorry you felt I wasn’t there for you. I tried to give you my best part.”

“Jim, I’m not for this world please forgive me. I don’t really know about burial or that sort of thing. You are my family so whatever you choose will be fine.”
