15 Weird Psychological Reasons Why Someone Might Fall In Love With You.

Falling in love is not something that happens often in one's life — so when it finally does, it's quite special. Of course, it is not an event that you can plan nor prepare for. When you finally cross paths with that right person, everything will just fall into place. It is something that cannot be forced.
Unfortunately, we can't just up and choose who we want to fall in love with and expect them to reciprocate the same feelings. In the modern world we live in today, however, we can offer psychological and scientific reasons as to why and/or how two people might fall in love with each other.
Keep in mind that this is in no way a guide to how to make someone fall in love with you. That is impossible. It's a matter of letting nature take its course. This is simply an explanation of that nature.

#1. Getting to know each other, even if that means in a short amount of time.

Truly falling in love with a person means falling in love with their personality and traits. If you already start feeling any attraction just from getting to know a person, it definitely means something. One researcher showed strangers started building intimacy with each other after asking one another 36 questions in 45 minutes.

#2. Forget the "opposites attract" phrase, people who are similar to each other tend to gravitate towards each other.

People tend to develop feelings for and ultimately fall in love with people who are like them. This means having similar values, life experiences, personalities, even similar physical appearances.

#3. Scent may be one of the factors in one's attraction towards another.

Why else would perfume and cologne be such successful products in retail? People are attracted to certain scents. These scents, however, go further than just smelling good. For example, ovulating women prefer scents of men with more testosterone.

#4. It helps when you resemble their opposite-sex parent.

Guys are attracted to women who resemble their mom. Ladies are attracted to men who resemble their dad. This can mean a similarity in not only physical traits but also their personalities.

#5. Height plays a major role.

Both men and women may be attracted to a certain height. This can range anywhere from short to average to tall. Women, for example, may be more attracted to men who are taller because it is seen as more of a masculine characteristic.

#6. Share thrilling and/or scary experiences with each other.

A person can share boring experiences with just about anybody. Coffee date, been there. Movie and a dinner, done that. Skip all the conventional dates for more exciting experiences together such as skydiving or bungee jumping to create much more special memories.

#7. The closer two people are to each other, the easier it is for them to connect.

There's a reason why long distance relationships are hard to maintain. The closer you are to each other, the better, as you're more likely to run into each other. In addition, the ability to see each other whenever you want is just so much more convenient and plays a big factor.

#8. You are never fully dressed without a smile.

Every person is more attractive when they have a smile on their face. According to research, people are drawn to more positive people. Who wouldn't be attracted to someone who has a positive outlook on life?

#9. Two people are more likely to be attracted to each other when they are less or equally good-looking.

According to a study in 1996, the better looking a person was, the less likely they were satisfied with their randomly assigned dates. Individuals are more likely to love someone they personally believe is equally attractive to him/her.

#10. Chivalry isn't dead, and in fact desired.

People who put others first before themselves are more likely to have a healthy and satisfying relationship in their future. However, don't confuse being selfless for being a people-pleaser. It is greatly important to know when to say no.

#11. Symmetrical features in a face can spark something subconsciously.

As human beings, we all naturally are attracted to certain physical traits. Although symmetry may not be a trait we think we're looking for, we're subconsciously attracted to equally aligned features on a person's face.

#12. Have an open posture -- keep your hands and torso open.

Get out of the habit of keeping your hands in your pockets or your shoulders turned inward. This gives off a signal to others that you're not interested. Instead, talk with a lot of gestures and in an open stance.

#13. Try staring into each other's eyes for two entire minutes.

It sounds like an awkward activity, but it's been proven to increase feelings of passion between two individuals. Joan Kellerman, a psychologist, asked 72 unacquainted undergrads to participate in an experiment of just that -- staring into each other's eyes. They reported an ignited connection that wasn't there prior.

#14. A dog automatically upgrades a person's attraction level up a notch.

Dog is man's best friend, and apparently wingman as well. Researchers have concluded that a person who owns a dog comes off as a nurturing person who is able to make big commitments.

#15. A person who can be deemed more attractive for having musical abilities and talents.

Well that explains why so many groupies exist. Musical practice seems to be connected to sexual selection. In an experiment, a young man asked 300 random young women on the street for their number while holding either a guitar case or sports bag. More numbers were given when a guitar case was present.
