Rick Ross Lost 100lbs, But There’s One Thing He’s NEVER Giving Up.

Every time you listen to a song and hear that instantly recognizable woman saying "Maybach Music" over the track, you know who is responsible: Rick Ross, the American hip hop mogul that created the Maybach label and raps about controversial topics like slinging drugs. It's hard to ignore Ross' obvious influencers, including Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G -- his music is totally reminiscent of that sound, and the music he produce is, too. He rose to fame after his single "Hustlin" made waves, and the following album, Port of Miami opened at number one on the Billboard's Top Album Charts.
To say he's a success is an understatement -- but there's one part of Ross' life that he wasn't happy with: His health. And, since he's a man that simply cannot be stopped, he decided to do something about it. See his shocking transformation below, and find out which fruit makes this tough guy rapper weak in the knees.

This is the Rick Ross we used to know.

He's a talented rapper and producer, and he was also one of the biggest dudes in the industry. In fact, his weight was causing him some health problems.

That's when he decided to do something about it.

Not wanting to find his way to an early grave, Ross set out on a journey to lose weight and transform his physique.

Now, he's basically unrecognizable.

It's not the Rick Ross we used to know: It's a newer, svelte version of the hip-hop tycoon.

The inspiration to lose the pounds came after his arrest for assault and kidnapping.

It was this major life event that gave him some serious perspective.

He's already lost 100 pounds.

And he's not even at his goal weight: He still has more to lose.

So how did he do it?

High intensity cardio and strength training -- but don't call it Cross Fit. “I don’t do that sh*t called CrossFit,” said Ross. “I call it “RossFit.”

He's been committed to the journey for some time now.

For him, it's all about getting healthier.

It's clear to see that he's been pretty committed to it, too.

You don't lose weight like this without some level of serious dedication.

But what about his diet?

Did he change what he ate to lose the weight?

According to Ross, not really.

“I eat pears now and s**t like that,” he said. “I still eat the way I want to eat. I just go to the gym.”

He did contend that he currently eats smaller portions than he did before.

After all, much of weight loss is about portion control. He also used to enjoy eating a huge plate of food before bed, but has since cut that habit.

Some staples of his diet?

His fancy, wholesome diet consists of grass-fed lamb loin chops, cauliflower roasted with sriracha flavoring, kale casserole, and of course, his personal favorite Asian pears accented with cinnamon, honey, and mint. “I love pears. Most definitely- it’s a fact." He's mentioned pears a few times in Internet -- the man just loves pears.

He's also gotten super into juicing, drinking fresh veggie and fruit juice instead of soda.

“After you’ve done a RossFit—better known as a CrossFit—workout for 25 minutes and you walk in and drink an ice-cold glass of beet juice, it’s the best-tasting fluid in the world.”

It's been a total lifestyle change for the formerly unhealthy Ross, but it's been worth it.

Though he's still a pretty big guy, he's lost the excess weight that can lead to things like heart attacks and diabetes.

And of course, he's always kept a sense of humor about his journey.

When talking about how his new lifestyle compares to his old, Ross had this to say: “The most I used to do for exercise was stand up to count the money, you know what I’m saying?”
